In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Krista Keller, “publicist, manager, hairstylist, makeup artist and mother” to teen bride Courtney Stodden revealed that Courtney, while heavily scrutinized by the mainstream (i.e. people opposed to the overt objectification of a child), has found a strong fan base with another group of misfits: homosexuals.
“The gay community has been so loving to her,” Keller says. “I know that Anna Nicole Smith had a great rapport with the gay community, and I think they’ve been waiting to have someone they can connect with, and I think Courtney is that person.”
For those of you blissfully unaware, Stodden made waves throughout the media earlier this year when she married 51-year-old
actor creeper Doug Hutchison when she was just 16. What followed was a bizarre media blitz of the couple publicly declaring their love for each other on GMA, Stodden slurring in her slutty clothes and consistent denial that Stodden has had any plastic surgery or is a day older than she says she is (despite evidence to the contrary, provided by our eyes).
Stodden, who seems to exclusively purchase shoes at stripper wholesale stores (see photo, left), has also created a frenzy with her over-the-top displays of sexuality (once again, I’d like to remind you that she is 17). Whether her cleavage is getting her kicked out of a family-friendly pumpkin patch, she is tweeting things like “I am going to get drilled today… & I’ll keep my mouth open the entire time. I’ll be a good girl… I promise. Mmm… I LOVE the Dentist!” or her mouth is spasming in an attempt to be “sexy” during interviews, it seems that Stodden learned how to be a person from 70s porn.
But let’s get back to the topic at hand: do gays love Courtney Stodden? And more importantly, if so, why?
Don’t get me wrong. I won’t miss a Courtney interview [side bar: be sure to catch Courtney and Doug on Dr. Drew's new show today]. When her reality show debuts in a few months, you better believe my DVR will be recording it. But I definitely wouldn’t call myself “a fan.”
I follow the Stodden sagas for the same reason I religiously keep up with Lindsay Lohan: I’m desperately waiting for the moment where she goes, “Ha! Joke’s on you, suckers. This was all an elaborate performance art piece to make me millions. I’m retiring to South Dakota. Peace.”
