A few moths ago we put a little poll out to our Gay NYC readers in order to contrast the recent Time Out New York sex poll numbers. Today, we have our results.

It’s been said and joked about that gay men are more promiscuous that our straight comrades. Is there truth to this, or is it merely because gay men are more open about sex? Gay men need to address their sexuality internally as a part of coming out to themselves and discovering their own personal attractions. This might allow for gay men more to feel open to talk about and try things that might seem less “traditional.” I believe that sex is simply part of human nature.  Some people, regardless of sexual orientation, are more sexual in nature. There’s nothing wrong with being more or less sexual– it’s just the way you’re wired.

I hope that this poll, although unable to draw a completely accurate comparison, can shed a bit of light on the topic.

TONY polled random New Yorkers (assumingly of various sexual identities) via their website to see how much sex New Yorkers were having. We created a similar poll to allow direct comparisons between our gay male readers and those that took the TONY poll.
